The Regional Sponsored Migration Scheme (RSMS) visa is for skilled workers from outside Australia or skilled temporary residents who currently live and work in Australia. It is part of the permanent Employer Sponsored visa program and offers an opportunity for employers in regional and low population growth areas to recruit applicants from overseas to fill full time, skilled vacancies where the employer has been unable to recruit a suitably qualified local employee.
There are three streams are available apply for this visa class. First one, If the applicant worked in the nominated position in the nominating employer’s business on a subclass 457 visa, for at least two years, then can apply through Temporary Residence Transition (TRT) stream. Secondly, those who are not satisfied the TRT stream requirements for the application, eligible candidate can apply through Direct Entry Stream. Third one is the Agreement stream, visa can apply through the labour agreement or regional migration agreement that has been tailored and negotiated with the government before the nomination is lodged.
